Dispersed camping is allowed through out the forest area, staying at least 100 ft. from any water.

MORTIMER CAMPGROUND
This is a beautiful, primitive campground located 10 miles up the mountain from Brown Mtn. Beach. It is operated by the Forest Service & is open from April 1st - October 31st & has 23 sites for tents and small campers. Fire rings, picnic tables, and 2 bathhouses with flushing toilets and showers are available. The fee is $10.00 per night.

Boone Fork Campground
This is a primitive campground operated by the US Forest Service with 15 camping sites, a fishing pond; picnic area, vault toilets and water. Group camping is available. The fee to use the campground is $3.00. Contact the US Forest Service for reservations at 828-652-2144.
